Random fun

We've been keeping up with life here...

Painting (in our house we strip down unless it is water color!).

 Playing on the Kindle...the boys all have discovered new games and apps.  They also have a Leapster and a camera with games on it that they got for Christmas, so they all rotate playing games on the different devices.  The problem is that if it's not "time" to play with those things.  If Nate or Z or I am on it, they all want to crowd around the Kindle if anyone is on it.  New terrain, here, folks.  Going to have to figure it out...

 Of course Legos are still HUGE here.  We got some big sets:  the three level house and the fire station.  Each has several levels and they can separate them and play with them.  They will all bring out their guys and play with it.  Pretty cute, and they do pretty well, and they play happily for quite awhile. 

 Here all the boys are playing with a Lego set (Chima, sigh) that Z got for his birthday.  Even Nate is a fan, as you can tell by his grin. 

 We went to the Butterfly House and Carousel the other day with some friends.  The littles are able to look at the map of the butterflies now and point out/identify the ones they see.  Pretty fun to see them growing up like that. 

 The littles got Imaginext characters from Mat, Marbree, and cousin P for both Christmas and birthdays.  We have a ton of knights and superheros.  They love all their guys and play with them all the time in their appropriate "houses". 

And me, I am doing much better.  Out of the January blues.  I really think giving myself permission to change my running routines was a HUGE thing.  Getting up in the dark and cold was killing me.  Now I've been running at the gym or even occasionally outside after Nate gets home from work.  I feel much more like myself than I did a few weeks ago.  It helps/hurts that the weather has been all over the place.  On the one hand, it is nice because it is NICE outside, and that makes life better overall.  On the other hand, having snow one day and 60+ temps the next day is just asking for sickness (which we got, thank you very much).

 

I also got a great weekend away with some dear friends of mine.  Most of them go to church with us, several go back to my college days, and it is very easy for me to be with them.  It was relaxing and calm and pretty much fabulous.

But the good news is that now it is FEBRUARY and there are birthdays and two more girls weekends coming up (yay! and thank you Nate!) and then it is March and daylight savings time and spring.  Almost there, kiddos.
