Wednesday Mornings

Z goes to a different school on Wednesdays (it is a gifted program).  It happens to be less than a mile than the littles school.  So rather than have him spend 40+ minutes on the bus on Wednesday mornings (10 to school, then 30 to the other school), he just rides with me to drop off the boys.  Then we have about 25 minutes to hang out.  We have been frequenting a McDonalds that is nearby.  We grab a chocolate milk for him and a pie for us to split (and I have my morning coffee from home).  It has been such a blessing.  Sometimes we don't talk about much, but other mornings it is just nice to hang out with him.  The other morning we sat snuggled on one side of the bench (to keep the sun out of our eyes) and looked at Goodreads and talked about all our favorite books and new series that he could read and that he was excited about.  He tells me some about school and friends and lunch and things that he is learning.  I am so grateful to have this little snippit of time with him!
