We broke it up a bit differently this time. We had planned on going straight through to Jenny's, spending a quick night, then heading to a beach in Delaware for a few days (just our family). But Saturday the weather showed that the two days we would be there there was a 70% chance of thunderstorms. That didn't sound like a good plan, so we changed plans at the last minute (which pretty much stressed me out, but we made do!)
We stayed at a hotel on Sunday night (and ate at IHOP...Z's choice!), then woke up and headed to Luray Caverns and a ropes course. We picnicked outside, then headed in. We had never taken the boys to cave before and they enjoyed it. Z used the camera (sorry, none of his pics made the cut for the blog ;) ) but I got a few of the boys.
After that we decided to splurge and let the boys try out the ropes course. Z and C were tall enough for the big one, while L and N had to hang on the smaller one (probably a good thing, and none of them cared at all). We were so proud of C! He was three stories up and was a rock star hanging out on those ropes!
Then we left and drove on the Skyline Drive through Shenandoah National Park. It was beautiful! The boys much preferred to read their books, and Nate did it to appease me...but I certainly loved it, and pointed out the beauty to the boys. C even started unintentionally making fun of me saying "hey boys, see that?" and he would point, then look back down at his book. We hopped out at a few stops to get a longer look at some of the scenery.
