Movie and Mini-Golf

While I could have happily stayed in the Park and explored and hiked for most of our visit, I knew that it wasn't practical for the rest of my boys!  

One afternoon we went to see Despicable Me 2, which they have been talking about for ages.  We bought some yummy fudge (a throwback to my childhood vacations) and popcorn to enjoy in the movie.   

We had spent the morning at Clingman's Dome but Mat, Marbree, Peter, Mike and Dorothy met us for the movie.  All the boys were excited to see each other again :)

Thursday morning we went mini golfing.  The other girls went craft shopping but I opted to stay with (and help manage) the boys.  The boys are all wearing their Big Dog shirts, courtesy of Papa Mike.  He calls them all his "big dogs".  Love this picture of all the boys...you can't tell any of them are related, can you? ;)

Mini golfing was a bit of a hoot.  Z loves it and did decently, as did P.  We finally let the little boys kind of go one hole ahead and do their own thing while the rest of us went behind and actually played.  One of the adults (mostly me) had to go and collect the clubs and balls after all the boys finished...those clubs make great weapons, and even with an adult collecting the balls most of the time we still managed to lose one in the course of the game.   

This particular golf was up the side of a mountain so we got to ride this tram/car thing up and back down again.

At this point, Z started getting a bit of an attitude (precursor for tween/teen years...?).  He was kind of irritated we chose THIS mini golf instead of another one that he had seen (farther away and more expensive).  Sigh...a hard lesson to learn for all of us...Z's lesson:  you don't always get your way, our lesson: sometimes someone is just going to be cranky and moody and you can't let them ruin the outing for everyone else. 

Mike, Nate and I tied for first right on par.  :)
