Washington DC

We ventured into the city just one day this trip (there will be time for us to do more/see more as they get older...I have to keep telling myself that!).  Jenny and her family came with us too, which was fun!  We visited the Museum of Natural History again, the same one we visited last time we were in town.  It is really most little boy friendly...at least our little boys.  We saw animals, dinosaurs, mummies, bugs, snakes.  Yup, sounds like my house.  We ate a very pricey lunch there, then went to briefly visit the Museum of American History.  There we just saw the transportation stuff...cars, trains, boats. 

Jenny had an extra sit and stand stroller so we left it in the van.  After the second museum Nate went to get it because Z had it in his head that he wanted to see the White House, and that was a haul.  Actually, it was relatively close to where we were...but man, the Mall is huge and you don't really realize it until you're there walking it. 

The boys took turns walking, riding in the stroller, and sitting on our shoulders.  At one point Z even sat in the stroller with another of the littles, and the remaining 2 littles were on each of our shoulders.  We were hot and tired too ;) 

But they did really well (all 6 kids!) considering we traipsed through 2 museums and made the hike to see the White House.  They were all upset that they couldn't actually go IN the White House (cue C crying). 

When we were almost back to the cars we stopped for ice cream and there was a great tree for the kids to play in (and shade for us to sit in).  We finished the hike back to the van and the boys passed out on the way home.  :)
