Egg hunt at Mobot

We had a trivia night for our church last weekend, and Nate's family loves trivia (and they are good at it!) so we invited them all up.  We came in fourth or fifth...not in the top 3 like we're used to, but we had fun and ate well :)   
We always have fun with them!  Z and P have fun playing, but as they are both the oldest, there tends to be some bossing each other around...with neither one responding to the bossing.  Pretty funny.  The two of them get kind of crazy, which gives me another taste of where all the kids will be in a few more years.  Eek.  The kids get spoiled being read to, and Marbree just got an IPad, so Z was officially introduced to the phenomenon known as "Angry Birds".  The first, and I'm sure not last, time that HE sees/plays something before MOM does. 

 
There also was an Easter egg hunt at MoBot that day, so I figured we would go.  After all, Easter is so late this year, I figured it would be warm and gorgeous. 
Wrong. 
Seriously, the weather has been NUTTY this April.  We have had everything from 90 degree days to 35 degree days and everything in between.  We have not had a lot of spring weather days.  We have had crazy, crazy thunderstorms, and we have heard tornado sirens I think 3 times this month alone (and tornadoes to go along with them). 
At any rate, Saturday morning it was 42 degrees and misting.  Not ideal at all for an outdoor Easter egg hunt.  But I had paid for this stinkin' egg hunt, we were going. 
So we all pile in (the 6 of us, Mat, Marbree, and P, and Mike and Dorothy) and head down to the gardens...complete with heavy coats and hats. 
Thankfully they decided to have the hunt inside (I can't imagine why they didn't want gazillions of kids out stomping around in the muddy, wet gardens they work so hard to maintain!). 
So all the eggs were kind of just scattered around this big empty room.  Hilarious.  Each kid got 12 eggs, then we wandered back out to check out our stash.  Z got it pretty quickly, but the little boys were a bit more unsure about what exactly was going on (they would get one, then stop everything to just look at the egg...they didn't even know to open it...they just were interested in the egg!). 

 Of course the next day was gorgeous, so we got some time to play outside.  Z dug around and found a centipede, so everyone joined in to check it out.   

Grateful to have family to spend time with!
