Saturday fun

We had a big storm on Friday night, so Z's T-Ball games were rained out (darn!).  So Saturday morning we started out in the front yard checking out the ants on the peonies.  Z has a magnifying glass (but is still working on how to use it!).  Nate tried to give him a lesson here, and C wanted in on it as well. 

Since it was a nice morning, just kind of wet, we decided to try out a new place.  We went to the World Bird Sanctuary and Lone Elk Park.  We had never been to the WBS, and since Z is so into animals (even birds), we thought we would give it a shot. 

They all loved it!  It is small, and there are a ton of different types of birds...eagles, owls, hawks, buzzards, turkeys, chickens, roosters, parrots, pigeons...The boys loved looking at them.  We wandered around there for awhile, then drove through LEP.  I have NO idea how we didn't see the bison like we normally do...really, how do they hide?  But we saw a few deer.

We went home for lunch and naps, then went out to a nearby park to walk/ride bikes/play.  The boys are happy in the jogger, and Z rides while we walk.  We go halfway around the 1.4 mile path, then stop to play at the playground.  Last time, it was a little hairy, since the boys were still pretty small and not walking well (it was maybe 3 months ago?).  But this time they did great!  I still wouldn't want to take them to this park by myself, but with both me and Nate it was fine.  The climbed up the stairs, did the slides, crawled through tunnels, and played with the toys. 

All in all, a fun Saturday!
