DC

 We normally make it actually into DC only one day when we're in town...it's about all any of us can take at this point.  This year we walked up to the Washington Monument.  We had been thinking maybe we could go up in it...turns out you've got to get there at the crack of dawn to do that and I wasn't quite that planned ;)

We checked out the Museum of Natural History (even though we've been there every time).  We just like to see the animals!  We were bummed to see that the Ice Age section was closed for renovations.  We kept walking along the Mall because it was a beautiful day...perfect weather!  We had a fun time messing with perspective while Z "touched" the top of the Washington Monument.  The littles wanted to try, too, so I took their picture...just not remotely correctly ;) We stopped to check out some fountains and a few other outdoor spots along the way also.   We ended by going into the Air and Space Museum, where we (briefly) lost L.  He just wasn't paying attention (go figure) and didn't notice when we turned and he kept going straight.  There was not enough time for me to panic before we found him, but he was shaken up a little.  It confirmed my decision to have them all wear orange today (which I rarely do anymore). 

Outside we grabbed some ice cream.  All was going wonderfully until L's melted and dropped off, at which point he lost it.  But man alive, did his brothers come to the rescue (I LOVE MY BOYS).  They all took turns and let him share theirs.  WITHOUT me asking them to.  My favorite picture is the one of all 3 of the littles eating each others ice cream ;)

We ended the evening at home watching The Pirate Fairies.  Let me tell you, we don't watch that at home!
