Dad and Dena's house

We went out to Dad and Dena's house today.  They live on about 9 acres of land, and Dad built a outside playhouse for Z when he was little.  Dad has a big garden, and lives pretty close to a small river that he and Z like to go throw rocks into.

Today was the first time that the little boys have really been able to enjoy it.  They are finally sure enough on their feet that I trust them, and they are starting to really enjoy the world around them.  They are curious and interested  in everything!

C showed his true curiosity fully today.  We have always known him to be curious...to be the first one into something, the one to try the crazy stuff and get into stuff I don't want him in.  Today he plowed into everything first, forged ahead of the group, tried out stuff before anyone else got there.  Pretty fun to see.

Holy picture overload...there is your warning :)

We started out in the playhouse and hiking around on the property.  Dad got out the hammock, and the boys swung with Dena.

This is NOT Dad and Dena's dog, it was a neighbors.  C LOVES dogs, and was so happy to play with him.  C tried to give him rocks to eat, petted him, let the dog give him kisses...he was all about the dog!
C climbed up to the top of the playhouse on his own.

Z and Dena were "fishing", a game they have been playing for years.  Dena puts a stick or something else she can find into the rope and Z hauls it up.
L with his collection.  He is ALWAYS collecting stuff and just holding it in his hands...rocks, little people, sticks, food at meals...

Z and I on the "mechanic" as he called it.  :)

We jumped in the car and drove about half a mile to the river and played there for about 45 minutes...climbing, throwing rocks, wading in the water.

I tried my hardest to keep them OUT of the water...a futile effort, though.  And yes, they are wearing their brand new shoes!  Luckily it was wet, not muddy :)

After we got back to Dad and Dena's house, we stripped them down and threw the clothes and shoes in the dryer.
C (far left, behind Z) was passed out before we were off of their street, L another minute later.  N wanted to play, so reached over to grab each of their hands and tried to wake them up.  Then he fell asleep a few minutes later that way. Pretty cute boys.
