A day in the life...

This is honestly more for me than anyone else, but if you're interested....

This is the crazy indepth note I left with the grandparents for when we were out of town.  It has a VERY detailed schedule, followed by our playtime stuff (what the kids can/can't do, etc). Again, I totally do NOT expect you to read this, but it is our day!

715-730 Get up
 Tell Z he can get up
 Fill up 3 milk cups with whole milk, take them into little boys room
 If they are poopy, change them, if not, wait til after breakfast
 Collect all the pacis from the floor and put in box, put their blankets back in their beds. They do NOT get blankets or pacis except for in their beds.

730-8 Eat breakfast
 Get everyone’s food all set on the plates, THEN put them in their chairs and give them their food. The little boys are sitting at the big table now without their trays!
 Little boys: fruit (grapes in quarters, anything else in bite size pieces), toast (1 piece each) with butter and cinnamon sugar (in quarters) OR waffles (1 each in bite size pieces) drizzled with syrup
 Z: fruit and toast (3 pieces) or waffles (2)
 While they eat, you can unload the dishwasher. All the grownup stuff from the dishwasher and silverware basket. Take out the silverware basket and leave it above the silverware drawer for Z to unload.

8-830 Get ready
 Z’s chores: Set egg timer for 25 min, and microwave timer for 25 minutes for him to do his chores. He needs to get dressed, get on shoes, go potty, brush teeth, unload dishwasher and silverware, and clear the table completely. He has a chart on the fridge to look at. Remind him if he does NOT get done by the time his timer goes off he will not get TV for the rest of the day. Let him go at his own pace, but remind him to check the timer every 5 minutes or so, and remind him every once in awhile to make sure he is doing his chores. The egg timer will probably go off about a minute before the microwave timer, so that is his warning.
 Get the little boys diapers changed and dressed.

830-945 Playtime
 If you want to go somewhere or do something, NOW is the time to do it. If the little boys miss their morning nap, no biggie. They might nap in the car, and that is fine.
 Play!
 If the little boys want more to drink, you can give them water once their milk is gone.

945-1015 Naptime and more playtime
 If you are home at this time, then it is naptime for the little boys.
 Put the little boys down with their 3 blankets and 3 pacifiers each. (If you cannot find them all, check under the beds or wedged between the crib and the wall.)
 Do not let them sleep for more than 30 minutes, even if you have to wake them up.
 Z can play with whatever.

1015-1130 More playtime
 When the little boys get up give them a snack. They can have the rest of their drinks and half or a whole graham cracker. If Z wants one he can have one too.
 More of the same playtime

1130-1200 Lunchtime
 Get the plates all set with food, THEN get the boys in their chairs.
 Tuesday: Chicken nuggets (quartered, little boys 3 each, Z 6); add some fruit, and/or cooked and cooled veggies (carrots or frozen peas or corn); add some string cheese (pull into quarters, then C and N can have those, but cut up L’s more into chunks, or he will shove the whole thing in his mouth). You can give them Ritz crackers or graham crackers or pretzels as well. Z can have chips, but not the little boys. They can drink the rest of their milk (if it is still left from breakfast) or water. Z can have lemonade or water or milk.
 Wednesday: PB&J (use dinosaur cutter-make 2 or 3 whole sandwiches total for the little boys, Z one whole sandwich); add some fruit, and/or cooked and cooled veggies (carrots or frozen peas or corn); add some string cheese (pull into quarters, then C and N can have those, but cut up L’s more into chunks, or he will shove the whole thing in his mouth). You can give them Ritz crackers or graham crackers or pretzels. Z can have chips, but not the little boys. They can drink the rest of their milk (if it is still left from breakfast) or water. Z can have lemonade or water or milk.
 If you want you can eat outside at the picnic table.
 When finished, have Z help clear the table.
 Load the dishes.

1200-100 Playtime
 More play!

100-300/400 Naptime
 Change the little boys diapers before naptime.
 Back to naptime, 3 blankets and 3 pacifiers each.

100-130 Reading or playtime
 Time with Z—reading, Legos, crafts, whatever

130-230 Quiet time for Z
 Set the microwave timer for 50-60 minutes. He can take books in his room and just hangs out for a bit.

230-300 Movie and Snack
 IF Z did his chores on time this morning, he can watch a movie (in DVD case or one of the BB movies on the shelf).
 He can also have a snack-fruit snacks or a granola bar or something else if he wants it.

300/400-530 Playtime
 When the little boys get up, give them a full cup of milk again. They can also have a snack or graham crackers (a half or a whole) or Ritz crackers (2 or 3) when they get up. You can give some to Z as well.
 More playtime.

530-600 Dinner
 Monday: Enchiladas. They are fully cooked, just need to be warmed up (30ish minutes at 350ish). You can add some chips and salsa (not for the little boys though). Z likes sour cream. If you want salad also you can go get some out of the garden
 Tuesday: Chicken and rice. Just needs to be warmed up in oven or microwave. Give it to the little boys in bowls with spoons, but they still might need some help, and will use their hands-no biggie. Make sure the chicken is pretty small for them. Z might say he doesn’t like it, but too bad, it is dinner. Add some cooked carrots (use the steamer, fill the bottom to the low line, then cook for 15 minutes). Slice them up for the little boys.
 Z should help clear the table.

600-700 Playtime, reading, PJs.
 This is a fun time to go on a walk.
 Read to the little boys, if they let you.
 Change diapers again, get PJs on the little boys.
 Have Z get his diaper and PJs on also.

700-750 Cleanup, movie, reading
 Little boys go down whenever they (or you!) are ready. Normally this is between 7 and 715, with 3 blankets and 3 pacifiers each.
 Z needs to help clean up. This includes finishing clearing the table, picking up the family room toys, picking up his crafts and/or Legos, or anything else you want him to help with. We normally clean now too: sweeping the floor, loading and starting the dishwasher with all the dishes, wiping down counters, tossing out diapers, picking up laundry, generally getting the house picked up.
 When he finishes (which is normally about the time we finish), you can read to him or if he wants (and if he did his chores in the morning) he can watch a movie for 20-30 minutes.

750-800 Bedtime
 Brush teeth, go potty, say prayers, tuck him in. Leave the light on in the hall and his door open.

800-
 Finish picking up the house. Believe me, it is a PAIN if it is not picked up when you start again tomorrow morning ;)
 Make SURE the dishwasher is started.

Playtime
Inside, upstairs
 Z’s room is fine, and they can climb on his bed or on his toybox, that is ok.
 Their room is fine, as long as they don’t find their pacis or blankets.
 Make sure the string on their curtain is pulled tight. It makes me kind of nervous.
 Keep our bedroom door shut and the bathroom door shut.
 Make sure that if the front door is open that the storm door is latched.
 They can SIT on the chairs and couches in the living room. Don’t let them climb on them or walk on them.
 In the kitchen they can get into the kid drawers (plate and cup drawer) and the pots and pans cabinets. Do NOT let them get under the sink, into the trash, into either turnaround, or the canned goods under the counter. There is nothing dangerous, just annoying and some breakable stuff.
 Make sure you keep the back door locked (or just make sure you realize it is unlocked) and the gate to the basement locked.
 In the family room, they can SIT in the rocker. They haven’t figured out how to get onto the couches yet, don’t hoist them and encourage it .
 Make sure you keep the door to the garage locked and the garage door down.
 Z can play with Legos at the kitchen counter, but he knows to make sure if they hit the floor to pick them up immediately.
 Z can do crafts at the kitchen table too.

Inside, downstairs
 Help them down the stairs (or just carry them), but they normally can do fine. And they know to wait at the top of the stairs if you’re carrying someone else down, so you don’t need to keep locking the door (just keep an eye on them).
 They can’t go into the laundry room or the back bedroom, so keep those doors shut.
 Keep the gate at the bottom of the stairs locked while you’re downstairs; it is ok that Z crawls up and over it.
 They can all crawl and walk and run and jump on the couches. Make sure Z isn’t too nutty while the boys are on the couches, though. Keep an eye on them, but they do fine and don’t normally fall.
 Do NOT let them climb on the train table.
 They can SIT in the chairs, don’t let them stand on them.

Outside, backyard
 Make sure both gates are shut.
 They are all fine climbing up to the fort, and I am not too worried about them up there. Just make sure that Z doesn’t take off the extra gate.
 They need help going down the slide from the fort, but will start to do it on their own.
 They love to swing!
 Do not let them into my garden, onto the wood pile, under the deck, or into the compost pile.
 They can climb and stand on all the chairs or our swing.
 They are fine on the stairs to the deck.
 You can fill up the pool if you want. If they want to swim, you can just strip them down totally and put on their swim trunks (what’s a little pee in our pool?).
 Make sure you keep an eye on them all the time if any of the little boys are in or near the pool. They can get in and out pretty easily, but need help on the slide.
 You can stretch out the SlipNSlide. Z knows how/where to set it up.

Outside, front yard
 They can play in the van if they want.
 You can go on a walk with the wagon (a longer one), or you can all walk down to the end of the street (they can normally all make it down and back on their own two feet).
 If Z wants to ride his bike make sure he wears his helmet.
 They are pretty good about not going into the street; they stop right at the edge, but if they get close tell them to stop and they probably will.
 The garage is safe for them to play in.
 The best mode of transport is currently the Choo Choo wagon. You can take the 3rd wagon off to get it into the van. The seatbelts are set so that N is first, C second, L third.
